Head of Research - Simon Stroughair is Alder Capital’s Head of Research having joined the company in April 2010.
Simon runs the day-to-day operations of the Research Department, chairs the Research Forum and is a member of the Investment & Operations Committees.
Beginning his career at Lehman Brothers in 1998, Simon worked on the Fixed Income Derivatives Structuring desk in London before moving to the Foreign Exchange desk as Product Manager for exotic options.
Simon joined Appleton Capital Management (formerly Gaiacorp) as a Quantitative Researcher, developing systematic trading strategies, systems and risk models within Foreign Exchange, Bond Futures, Oil Futures and Equity Index Futures markets.
In 2005 he joined the Board of Directors at Appleton as Research Director, managing the day-to-day operations of the research and systems team.
Simon is a first-class honours graduate in Theoretical Physics from Trinity College, Dublin. While at Trinity, he was awarded the Foundation Scholarship, the Entrance Exhibition, and various other prizes.
He is a former Easter Week scholar, winning one of the seven scholarships awarded annually by the Irish Government for those scoring the highest grades in the Leaving Certificate Examinations.
